Nestlé Purina PetCare

CASE STUDIES

Nestlé Purina PetCare Europe packaging production requires specialist expertise in two areas. Firstly, the products are technically complex. The ranges are extensive (sometimes up to 400 brand items) and can contain up to 23 languages per pack. They also combine all the printing processes (offset, gravure and flexo). Secondly, managing all the packaging projects involves over 400 people in 20 countries. The large volumes can reach peak production levels of 200 packs per week. In situations like this, effective organisation is essential.

The Solution:

Diadeis centralises all of Nestlé Purina Petcare's packaging production at a European level. This means there is only one service provider in charge of the design implementation process; from artwork (multilingual and variation versions) to reprographics, including producing the plates. Diadeis is therefore able to ensure uniformity over the various brands in all countries and media. In response to the demanding specifications of some 40 European printers, a specialised colour management system was implemented.

Project management is also supported using Mediabox, a collaborative tool set from Diadeis. These collaborative solutions combine workflow, a Digital Asset Management tool, and an online softproofing and authorisation system, with all these tools being adapted to the project's characteristics. This results in greater efficiency and quality while optimising costs.

The result:

An optimised design implementation process and a respected brand concept.
